“My hips had to be replaced due to rheumatoid arthritis. My doctor was so impressed with how quickly I recovered from my first operation and attributed it to my work with Mark prior to my surgery. He insisted I continue the program through both pre– and post– surgery for my second hip surgery. I highly recommend this program to anyone who is getting ready to have surgery or has any medical issue regarding exercise. My doctor does, too!”

“I had always heard that exercising in the water was a great workout, but I had no idea just how good a workout it could be! I’m definitely going to be making it a more permanent part of my fitness program, and I am telling everyone that they should give it a try. They’ll love it!”

“When I was nine, I had drowned and was resuscitated. I had been deathly afraid of the water ever since, but I knew that swimming is a skill everyone should have. Mark understood the psychological effects that drowning had on me, and within 2 and a half weeks, had me actually swimming laps! Thanks to Mark’s knowledge and patience, I now have a skill that will last me a lifetime! ”

"Even though I had been doing exercises in my home, I discovered while exercising in the heated pool at WPRC, Mark was my instructor, that I had been neglecting my left arm and I believe Mark helped me to find it again. After my hemorrhagic stroke on September 15, 2007, I had about 6 weeks of physical therapy to teach me to walk again and to improve my balance. I am happy to say that I am walking and doing okay but my left arm and shoulder were very weak and sometimes were numb even though it has been over a year since my stroke. . Mark pointed out that I was not using my left arm very much and commenced with water exercises to strengthen my left arm and shoulder. Also, since my stroke I have lost 42 pounds and just did not have an appetite. Well this water exercising has definitely improved my appetite. So I want to thank the Central Florida Stroke Club News and ask you to keep up the good work providing the information to all of us stroke survivors. . I also want to thank Mark Canterbury for his instruction, dedication and knowledge with working with stroke survivors."
